Brittnae Bertino
Chair

Brit is the Principal / Wedding Director of Simply Weddings by Brit Bertino,
a full service wedding coordination and design firm. Brit is also the
Principal / Special Events Director of Power Events, a destination
management company servicing meetings, trade shows and social
events. She currently sits on the Boards of the Las Vegas Chapters of the
National Association of Catering Executives (NACE) and the International
Special Events Society (ISES). She is an alumna of the Conference
Management & Event Planning and Wedding Coordination & Design
certificate programs. Brit is also a CSEP (Certified Special Event Professional).


Tijuana Plant
Vice Chair

Tijuana, originally from Boston, MA, is an expert in event design and
production. She has produced an assortment of events over the last
9 years and is a graduate of the CMEP program at The International
School of Hospitality, summer 2008. Through her work at BBJ Linen she
has had the opportunity to work with some of the most talented
planners in the business and assist with event production. She has
taken her 13 years of experience in political and public service and
translated it into first class hospitality and customer service.

Cheri Slone
Scholarship Committee Chair

Originally from the east coast, Cheri had pursued education in science,
healthcare and research. Working in those fields most of her life, she
decided it was time to change after moving to Las Vegas where there
were exciting possibilities to be explored in hospitality. After gaining a
variety of knowledge from The International School of Hospitality she was
able to create a foundation. She has successfully been able to cross
over to the hospitality industry as a concierge in a five star hotel. Cheri is
using her previous experience and continuing to grow in her knowledge of the industry.

Destinee Walker
Community Relations Committee Chair

Upon graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with a BS in Communication Studies, Destinee ventured to New York City in pursuit of a career in dance. She was also the Co-Founder and
General Manager of STEEL Dance Company during her tenure as a professional dancer. While in New York City, Destinee was an active member of New York Women in Communications, which led her desire to pursue a second career in event management. She currently works for Koi Restaurant and Lounge as the Director of Private Dining and is a proud alumna of The International School of Hospitality. Destinee graduated from TISOH in December '08 with a certificate in Conference Management & Event Planning. She looks forward to a successful and prosperous year for TISOH in 2010.

Doris Lofton
Hospitality Committee Chair

Doris is the co-owner of DAL Weddings & Events. Doris holds
memberships with the Wedding Professionals of Las Vegas and Las
Vegas Wedding Network. Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Doris
received her Nevada Real Estate license. Doris is an alumnus of The
International School of Hospitality (TISOH). She was voted Most
Inspirational Student, by her peers, at her TISOH graduation
ceremony.

Lori Whitelaw
Communications Committee Chair

Lori is originally from Buffalo NY and moved to Las Vegas at the age of 18 to start school at UNLV majoring in Kinesiology. After a year of classes, she found her passion pointed to a different career path and switched majors to Meetings and Events Management. After a year in the program at UNLV, Lori decided she wanted more hands-on training. She attended TISOH in the Fall of 2008 and earned a certificate in Wedding Coordination and Design. Lori is now working with Brit Bertino as a Wedding Coordinator for Simply Weddings. She absolutely loves what she does and credits her success to her combined educational background from UNLV and TISOH. She is looking forward to her graduation this December from UNLV with a Bachelors in Hotel Administration, with a Concentration in Meetings and Event Management.
