Designed to provide students with a foundation of knowledge in wedding planning and the confidence to enter and succeed in the industry. This certificate program prepares graduates for careers as independent wedding consultants, employment as planners with hotels, resorts and special event companies, or for positions with allied businesses.
The Course
Practically all the learning materials for this program are delivered online. Each student is assigned a principal instructor who will be available via email and telephone for the duration of the course.
Each student will work on a project consisting of planning 4 complete weddings: traditional, non-traditional, cultural and destination. All the information on the project is provided at the beginning and students will have the entire duration of the course to build on it. The project will ultimately serve as a sample of best practices and also as a portfolio of the student’s work.
The course is broken down into 15 modules. Each module uses PowerPoint presentations, instructor notes and handouts to supplement the textbook material. In addition, very complete templates are included for use with the project and for future reference. These comprehensive templates are all field tested by wedding professionals. Finally, the project neatly ties together all the elements that comprise the program.
