events. Events range from weddings to concerts, to banquets,
to tradeshows and conventions. The variations are endless
and so are the opportunities. This is a vast, fast growing
industry, underserved by educational institutions in
providing qualified graduates.
The future is bright. In a recent MPI/GPJ survey of
200 marketing executives of large corporations across
multiple industries, 82% indicated that events are an
integral part of their marketing plan. Extrapolating
forward, it is clear how large the demand for professional
event management personnel must be.
This comprehensive Certificate program is delivered through lectures and discussions conducted by industry and academic professionals, site visits and talks by guest speakers. A requirement to receive the Certificate is to complete a project to plan a specific conference with special event components. The project ultimately serves as a sample of best practices and also as a portfolio of the participant's work. All instructors have masters degrees, CMP, CSEP or similar designations.
